Is your wardrobe complete without a Lihiya?

If you live in the Kingdom of Eswatini, one of Africa’s smallest nation states, the answer would be “No!”.

A Lihiya is the national dress of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and constitutes a large single sheet of fabric that is tied, usually on the left shoulder. Often brightly coloured and in handwoven fabric they are handed down from mother to daughter.

In a modern take on the Lihiya, a social enterprise Baobab Batik from Eswatini, are re-imagining and re-creating fabulous Lihiya in rayon with amazing African designs. These are hand crafted and an invaluable addition to your Summer wardrobe.

Ideal as a beach sarong, or lightweight wrap they are a bold statement of your solidarity with generations of Swazi womenfolk, past, present and future.
